Donald J. Burkit, Sr. passed away September 9, 2017. He was preceded in death by parents John J. Burkit and Christina (nee Bross) Burkit and his sister Dorothy Fahrenbach. He leaves behind his five children: Donald J. Burkit, Jr., Diane M. (Burkit) Pennington, DO, John M. Burkit, Glen S. Burkit, Maria E. (Burkit) Horne; the children's mother Margaret Mary Schell Love; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Donald graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1951. He participated in football, baseball and the Senior Class play. Donald served in the U.S. Navy/Fleet Marine Force...

Donald graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1951. He participated in football, baseball and the Senior Class play. Donald served in the U.S. Navy/Fleet Marine Force 1951-1955. He graduated from the University of Sciences Philadelphia/College of Pharmacy 1959. He spent over 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry. The last 20 years as a vice president. Donald was a member of Pointe of Hope Church in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. followed by funeral services 1:30 p.m. Friday September 22, 2017, at Point of Hope Church, 1215 NW Hwy. 7, Blue Springs, Missouri 64014. Interment with Military Honors at 3:15 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, Missouri 64131.
